Facilities
LABORATORIES
Laboratories are a seed ground where students get to explore, question, invent and deduce findings and learn in a collaborative way. Keeping in mind the famous Chinese proverb "I hear-I forget; I see--I remember; I do--I understand", the school boasts of separate lab facilities for the students for all the Science subjects viz Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science.
The Physics, Chemistry and Biology Lab have fully equipped teaching stations at the front of the room. They can see instructional demonstrations before they conduct experiments themselves. Each Lab has a spacious work area and at a time 25 students can be involved in experimentation. All the labs are equipped with computers. Trained Lab assistants help in the maintenance of Labs.

SPORTS
Games and Sports have always been an integral part of the school’s curricula. The Sports Day is power packed with vigour, skill and a celebration of the uncrushable spirit of sportsmanship. The school has sprawling playfield with basketball, volleyball courts and a cricket pitch. The Sports Department holds tournaments such as inter-section kabaddi, kho-kho, cricket matches, volley ball and basketball matches. The girls also participate in inter-section matches.

The gymnasts are trained in Rhythmic Gymnastics with ribbons, Floor Exercises and Artistic Gymnastics on the Mini Trampoline and Vaulting Horse. They learn balancing on parallel bars and uneven bars. The gymnasts of Somerville bring home many trophies from various competitions held at the inter-school and district levels.

ART ROOMS

STUDENT HEALTH
We perform health check-up of students regularly in the school. An Annual Medical Check-up is conducted by a Child Specialist. In case of a Medical emergency, students are referred to the hospital.
AUDIO-VISUAL ROOM
The AV room has a television set and a DVD player. A dynamic, innovative, ingenious and avant garde teacher improvises and devises different methods to make the topic being taught more vivid, concrete and easy to understand. The teachers plan and schedule some of their lessons in such a manner that the students are taken to the Audio Visual room to watch television programmes. A lesson on the Parliamentary system of governance can be taught more effectively by watching a live telecast of the Parliament in session. Similarly a Geography or Science class can be vitalized and vivified by a programme, a film or presentation.
